Mike McQuaid 8ee09675ab r: re-add shared library.
An alternative to #15711 to fix issues in #15717.

Also, while we're here, add a better test and only use Java if
specifically requested.

Closes #15723.

Homebrew Core

Core formulae for the Homebrew package manager.

How do I install these formulae?

Just brew install <formula>. This is the default tap for Homebrew and is installed by default.

Troubleshooting

First, please run brew update (twice) and brew doctor.

Second, read the Troubleshooting Checklist.

If you dont read these it will take us far longer to help you with your problem.
